Dad calls out parents who have publicly shamed their kids online

Wayman Gresham is calling out all of the parents who are publicly punishing and embarrassing their kids online.

The Florida dad posted his own video last week, a parody of the “kid-shaming” videos. Like most of those videos circulating on the Web, Gresham starts out by saying he’s going to “teach his son a lesson” by giving his son a “bald head, messed up haircut.”

But then Gresham turns the tables and asks his son to get up and hug him. Then Gresham calls out all the moms and dads who have publicly shamed their kids online.

“Good parenting starts before he even gets to the point of being out of control. … Good parenting is letting your child know that you love them regardless of what they are and who they are and showing them the way by example,” Gresham says in the video.

Gresham says parents who have resorted to public shaming are a bad example and that parenting doesn’t have to be so extreme.

The video has gone viral, with more than 18 million views on Facebook to date.

Gresham later posted on Facebook, “I am not against discipline! I am against public humiliation!”

Deputy Surprises Little Girl After Finding Out Reason for Lemonade Stand

A little girl running a lemonade stand in Ohio got quite the surprise after a sheriff`s deputy who stopped by for a drink found out what she was planning to do with her earnings.

Caught on camera: Russian waitress fights off customer after he gropes her

Talk about getting served!

A video of an unidentified Russian waitress giving a grabby customer exactly what he deserves has gone viral.

The security footage shows a customer in a Russian restaurant trying to stuff money down the waitress’s shirt. To say she doesn’t take it well would be an understatement. She slaps him, knocking him off his chair, and when he follows her and grabs her butt, she hits him with the menu so hard that he falls to the floor.

The waitress then walks away as the groper is picked up off the floor by some other customers and leaves the restaurant.

According to the Daily Mirror, some people are speculating that this instance of girl power may have been a setup, but that whack sure looks real.

Dad stops father-daughter dance for a game of catch

Some traditions are meant to be broken...

Just as the music started during the obligatory father-daughter wedding dance, Jim Mickunas had another idea. He preferred to play a game of catch with his daughter Kandice, the bride.

“My daughter has always found her own path,” Jim wrote on YouTube. She played Flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in Soccer and Track. She then became an Engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22.”

To Jim, the traditional father-daughter dance didn’t reflect who he and his daughter are, so he came up with the idea of playing a game of catch instead.

Will this be the start of a new tradition at weddings across the country?

Elderly lady performs amazing dance routine along side beat boxer

An amazing new video has come out of Brussels featuring an elderly lady dancing with a beat boxer.

Street performer Ammar Dafri, who goes by Power Beat, was in the middle of his beat-boxing harmonic routine when all of a sudden, a woman walking her dog crashed his performance.

Much to the enjoyment of the crowd, the woman started dancing along to the music.

After her performance, the woman and her dog just walk away like nothing ever happened.

This definitely proves you are as young as you feel!

The Rock surprises his superfan ‘bestie’ by officiating his wedding

Screen Junkies correspondent Nick Mundy has always had a weird relationship with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Nick somehow managed to bridge the gap between journalist/superfan and friend. Now their friendship has morphed into a full-on bromance.

Because of their history, Nick thought nothing much of his next assignment to interview the Rock for his new movie, “San Andreas.” But little did Nick know that his co-workers had other plans for him: They arranged for the Rock to marry Nick and his fiancée in a surprise wedding!

When everything was revealed, the look on Nick’s face was priceless.

“It’s a pleasure for me to do this,” the Rock told a shocked Nick. “It’s an honor for me to do this. It’s completely legal — I am officially ordained by the state of California. Yeah! I go all out. Because you’re my bestie.”

Have no fear — Nick’s fiancée, Dilara, was in on the whole thing. They even flew his parents in from Texas.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Fallen iPhone records its journey to the bottom of the ocean

Not many iPhones can fall to the bottom of the ocean and live to tell the tale.

Gregory Papadin was vacationing in Spain and accidentally dropped his iPhone into the ocean. The phone was in the middle of recording before it fell and managed to capture its slow descent to the bottom of the ocean.

After several unsuccessful rescue attempts by Gregory and his brother, a diver was able to retrieve the phone from its premature watery grave.

“The underwater pressure was too much for both my brother and I to swim and get it, but the owner of the boat we rented was able to reduce the pressure using a special breathing method meant for diving [equalization],”Gregory wrote in the YouTube description. “He was able to retrieve it, and my phone managed to survive the whole ordeal!”

We’re glad that Gregory’s iPhone survived its journey to the bottom of the sea, and we are very curious about what kind of phone case he has.

‘Animal Sound Man’ shows off his barnyard impressions

You’ve probably never seen a street performer quite like William Jafta.

Jafta, also known as “Animal Sound Man,” has the unique talent of perfectly mimicking farmyard sounds, to the point where you almost feel you can smell the manure.

Jafta, who is from Cape Town, South Africa, can reproduce about 11 different animal sounds, including a cat, donkey, chicken, horse, cow and dog.  The secret to his successful impressions, he says, is that he practices daily.

The video was filmed by YouTube user Chris Schofield and quickly went viral, getting over 500,000 views after just two days online.

Jafta uses his talent for charity, collecting money for local street kids around Cape Town.

This girl’s boyfriend can’t handle her magically changing hair color

Forget about #TheDress ... this girl’s hair seems to magically change colors as she walks around!

Sabrina Abu-Obeid recently debuted her newly dyed violet hair to her boyfriend, DJ, but she didn’t believe him when he said her hair seemed to change color before his eyes.

DJ documented Sabrina’s changing hair color, and overnight the video went viral!

“He really wanted to show me what he saw, so he took out his phone and shot a quick video, which was initially intended for only me to see,” Sabrina told BuzzFeed. “We knew it would get some attention, but we definitely didn’t expect it to go as viral as it did.”

So is her hair blue, purple, violet or pink? All of the above? You decide.

While karaoke may seem like it’s all fun and games, it can actually be an extreme sport for your eardrums — especially when someone is singing anything by Whitney Houston.

This unidentified guy blew a small audience, and us, away as he belted out the diva’s hit “I Have Nothing” from the 1992 movie “The Bodyguard.”

With his incredible voice and spot-on gestures, he’s basically Whitney incarnate. We’re hoping new video surfaces of him covering “I Will Always Love You.”

Someone get this guy a record contract ASAP.

Teen’s virtual duet with Jessie J goes viral

Teen’s virtual duet with Jessie J goes viral

Record companies are courting an 18-year-old British singer, whose virtual duet with Jessie J has gone viral.

Tom Bleasby recorded his version of Jessie J’s song “Flashlight” from the “Pitch Perfect 2” soundtrack using the karaoke app Smule.

Jessie J recorded the song on Smule, leaving gaps for fans to sing with her and to look like she was interacting with them.

Bleasby posted his video on Facebook on May 23, and the singalong has already generated 8.5 million views.

“The past week has been crazy,” Bleasby told the BBC. “My phone does not stop going off. The overwhelming outpour of support has been inspiring, thousands of messages from complete strangers telling me how amazed they were.”

Bleasby, who insists that he has never had a singing lesson, has been approached by a record producer who has worked with Beyoncé.

The teen says he is now being “bombarded” with requests from record companies. We hope there is a solo album in the works!

Musician creates 25-product jingle mashup

What happens when you take one memorable jingle and combine it with a bunch of others? One incredibly catchy tune!

YouTube user Grant Woolard wove together 25 famous jingles for an ultimate jingle mashup titled “Commercial Jingle Counterpoint.”

To top it all off, he played the tunes on a piano, using the corresponding products to hit the keys.  Among his tools: a McDonald’s french fry container, a can of SpaghettiOs, and even a couple of baby back ribs!

Now just try to get one of these tunes out of your head!

A parody of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ tells the truth about being a mom

A parody of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ tells the truth about being a mom

Take a quick scroll through your social media account. Rarely will you see a mommy blogger curating the reality of the daily whining, fighting, begging and screaming that define the oh-so-magical experience of child-rearing.

But one mom’s videos show us that it’s OK to admit that being a mom is a messy, messy job!

Mother of two and former senior editor for Nickelodeon’s parenting website, Deva Dalporto used to dole out advice about how to delicately handle snot and sharing.

She now creates some really funny videos that parody the craziness that comes with being a mom.

“Bohemian Momsody” hysterically addresses the disarray, the unbrushed hair, and the constant request for juice that fill the days of a mom’s life.

And the former editor points out how being a mother strips your entire vocabulary down to one word — no.

Despite the trials of having a person semi-permanently attached to you and having to learning to pee with ninjalike stealth, Dalporto and her mom gang point out that at the end of the day, all that really matters is family … sorta.

‘Explosive Engagement’: Guy proposes to his girlfriend while shooting an action film

‘Explosive Engagement’: Guy proposes to his girlfriend while shooting an action film

Talk about an explosive proposal!

Actress Cymber Browder thought she was just helping out her boyfriend’s brother by appearing in his action film; little did she know her boyfriend, Seth McMurry, had much more in store for her.

In the clip, “An Explosive Engagement,” the pair run across a rooftop, shooting machine guns as a helicopter shoots down at them.

Then, just after Seth dramatically saves Cymber from a helicopter crash, she remains in character as she gets up and looks around her, to find Scott down on one knee and asking, “Will you marry me?”

Cymber immediately breaks character and burst into tears of joy. Of course she said yes!

While they’re embracing on the rooftop, you can hear the cameraman say, “We got it!”

If you are going to break character in a film, that’s the way to do it.

Man plays Beatles song on his guitar during brain surgery

Man plays Beatles song on his guitar during brain surgery

Anthony Kulkamp Dias, 33, discovered he had a brain tumor 15 days after his son was born.
He realized something was wrong when he began stammering and forgetting things. He couldn’t remember the simplest of details, including the make of his car, he said.

Last week, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Doctors kept him conscious during the surgery so they could monitor the areas of the brain relating to speech and motor coordination. Keeping brain surgery patients awake allows physicians to speak to them during the operation and chart their responses.
Instead of reading or telling stories during the procedure, Dias did what he does best. A 20-year guitar player, Dias serenaded his doctors while holding a guitar on his stomach.
In addition to his emotional rendition of “Yesterday” by The Beatles, he also played a song called “Emanuel,” which he wrote for his son.

Dias says that 90 percent of the tumor was removed during the surgery, which he says was pain-free. He said he hopes the video of his performance will be inspiring.

Sesame Street hilariously spoofs ‘Jurassic Park’

You wouldn’t think that a giant prehistoric cookie would scare Cookie Monster, but that’s exactly what happens in Sesame Street’s latest parody video. This time the show takes on “Jurassic Park” in a clip called “Jurassic Cookie.”

Cookie Monster stars as a brilliant scientist with a seemingly simple idea, “Me take little piece of cookie found in zillion-year-old rock, turn it into big cookie, and open super-duper theme park.”

But, as in the movie, his plans go awry, and suddenly the Cookiesaurus is on the loose!

“First time cookie ever tried to eat me!” Cookie Monster exclaims in the video.

Turns out the only thing that will calm down this giant prehistoric gingerbread cookie dinosaur is … a hug.

But in the end, it’s Cookie Monster who gets the last laugh. “This giant prehistoric cookie smells delicious!” he says as he hugs the Cookiesaurus, and he begins to chase it.

Guess we’ll have to wait for the sequel to see how things turn out!

Kid has major freak-out after stepping in dog poop

Here we have a child who’s really stepped in it.

A video of a child having a meltdown after stepping in dog poop is taking the Internet by storm.

Now, it’s not a fun thing stepping in dog poop, and this child’s reaction certainly reminds us of that.

He begs and begs for paper towels, and while he exclaims that he is “not so excited,” his parents just mockingly laugh at his predicament. They also remind him that he “can still walk” in his greatest time of need.

Please note that his T-shirt says, “You don’t know me.” But we feel like we do! We see ourselves in his reaction.

We also think this little boy should have a talk with that pug about what it means to be man’s best friend.

Pickle the minipig slurping ice cream — as cute as a button

Pigs in a blanket, and ice cream for breakfast? This is certainly not Beyoncé’s vegan diet announcement video, released earlier this week.

Instead, this video, which has gone viral, shows a little oinker named Pickle, who is just living his own flawless life.

Waking up from what appears to be a cozy nap, he is greeted by an angel with a halo — we mean his owner, model Max DiNatale — with an ice cream cone in his hand.

Maybe you didn’t know pigs liked ice cream, but this one seems to be a big fan of a vanilla cone. It is apparently safe to give pigs ice cream on occasion, since it will not disrupt their digestive system. However, too much sugar is thought to cause pigs to display bad behavior. Pigs — they’re just like us!

Piggin’ out 24/7 — pig-jama party!  We could go on... but that’ll do.

Taylor Swift ‘crashes’ a superfan’s wedding in the parking lot at her concert

Anyone who knows Katy Harris can tell you that she’s more than a little into Taylor Swift — she actually may be her biggest fan.

When Katy’s boyfriend, Chris Eisenmann, proposed, there was only one date Katy had in mind: Dec. 13, 2014 ... also known as Taylor Swift’s 25th birthday.

But when those wedding plans fell through, Katy had another idea: Tie the knot in the parking lot of the Taylor Swift concert at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Katy texted the idea to her then fiance, asking: “Do you want to get married at taylor??”

His response, “Lol I would”

Katy explained her new wedding plans on Instagram:

Some of you may have saw on facebook that Chris and I plan to get married in 3 days at the #1989tourphilly Taylor Swift Concert #06122015 — We originally planned a a whole wedding for 12-13-14 ( Taylor’s 25th birthday! ) We had reasons why we had to put it off. Meanwhile, I’ve had a gown hanging in my closet!! And as I was making our homemade outfits for Taylor (as I have done every two years when she comes to town) a joke about wearing my gown to the concert turned into us driving to Philly to get a marriage license and planning a ceremony outside of Lincoln Financial Field right before walking into the concert in our tux and gown! We kept it a secret for the most part until today! If you know anything about me its probably how I have been obsessed with Taylor since I first heard her in 2006. Chris has been very supportive and could even put most girls to shame going word for word on any of her albums (including deluxe editions) So naturally how could I ever give him up?! He is an incredible person and an amazing fiancé! He also is the best father to our beautiful son and I cant wait to share their last name! I cant think of a better or more fitting way for us to celebrate this time in our lives — I am on cloud 9! #bestfianceever #bestnightever @taylorswift #hitchedattswift We have our friends from philly.com who liked our story and asked if they could document it! Of course we said yes! Please tag Taylor for us in the comments so maybe she will catch wind of it!

The pop singer did catch wind of the nuptials happening before her concert — and crashed the happy couple’s wedding ceremony by inviting them backstage.

This may or may not have made this superfan’s dreams come true.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! We’re placing bets now that their next child will be named Taylor.

Vampire fish are falling from the sky!

Reports from Alaskan residents have had some people concerned that perhaps vampire fish are falling from the sky.

Everybody, breathe! Here’s what is actually happening: A fish called the Arctic lamprey, a scary-looking, fanged fish, one foot long, has been spotted around the town of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Residents have found four of these eel-like sea creatures: in a parking lot, a front lawn and other random places on dry land.

No one is absolutely sure what’s going on, but officials have a pretty good theory.

Seagulls are likely scooping up the ugly fish, which are currently spawning, and then dropping them when they realize they aren’t all that tasty.

So it looks as if there is nothing to fear, but you might like to take an umbrella on your next trip to Fairbanks during arctic lamprey-spawning season.

Lesson learned: Don’t try and take a selfie with a sea lion

You know how beaches typically have a sign warning people not to feed the birds? Well, they might want to invest in a “No Selfies With Sea Lions” sign, too.

When a tourist got too close to a sunbathing sea lion, who clearly wasn’t ready for the picture, the sea lion let its feelings be known with a very impressive roar.

We don’t blame the sea lion for getting mad. Someone sneaking up on you to take a picture is not fun at all.

In the end, this brave soul did manage to snap a selfie, despite the sea lion’s loud objection. He probably posted the picture to Instagram without the sea lion’s approval!

First-time fathers’ reaction video is a tearjerker

Just in time for Father’s Day, Dove has released a new commercial to tug at our heartstrings.

The minute-long commercial, which is a part of the company’s #RealStrength  campaign, focuses on first-time fatherhood moments, showing men emotionally receiving the news that their mates are having a baby.

All of the clips in the commercial are pulled from real couples’ reaction videos and pregnancy announcements posted on YouTube.

It makes us want to hug all the dads in our lives.

Queen’s soldiers really need to work on their people skills

The Queen’s guards are on a roll lately! They’ve been proving they won’t stop for anyone or anything in their way.

In this video, a pack of soldiers clad in red uniforms and bearskin hats marches straight into a tourist who is paying a little too much attention to his camera.

In their defense, one soldier does call out, “Make way!” But it’s too late for the tourist, who becomes road kill.

Steven Macaulay, who shot the footage and uploaded it to YouTube, captioned the video: “You better be on your guard when the Queen's Guards are coming through.”

Between this and the little girl who was recently slapped by a guard, we think Her Majesty needs to sit down with her soldiers for a chat about their people skills.

How NOT to play Frisbee

Now that the Stanley Cup Final is over, sports audiences are probably looking for their next fix.
Luckily, they can turn their attention to an up-and-coming sport out of Croatia.
We are lucky to catch a rare glimpse of this groundbreaking game, as played by two Bosnian men at a beach in Croatia.
Please notice, if you will, their skill at working completely against the dynamics of the air and the physics of the Frisbee. We can only assume that artistry like this takes time to develop, as we notice no other locals joining in the sport.
There’s no word so far about whether this new game will be pitched for the Olympics, but as far as we can tell, it looks like a game that could bring the world together.

Unbelievable: Fake meter maid lifts NYC taxi off the ground

It takes something pretty impressive to get the attention of New Yorkers on the street, but one thing that is certainly going to stop them in their tracks is a traffic cop lifting a cab off the ground.
In a fairly typical New York scene, a cabby and meter maid were fighting about where the taxi driver could park. But things took a turn for the bizarre when the tiny traffic cop lifted the front of the taxi four feet off the ground.
No surprise here ... it was all a hoax!
The video was staged by Thinkmodo, the team that brought you the “Devil Baby” and “Carrie” stunts.
This new viral video is part of a marketing campaign for a new app called CarLister.co. And no, the company does not sell cars that are easy to lift — that’s all an analogy for how easy the app is to use.
Even though it’s an ad, we like to believe that one day we will see a meter maid Hulk out and lift a car.

Toddler laughs uncontrollably as her pilot dad spins the plane around in midair

This fearless 4-year-old cannot stop laughing as her pilot father introduces her to some more advanced aerobatic flying techniques, such as spinning around in midair.

Lea has been going for plane rides with her dad, pilot Raphael Langumier, since she was a baby and so she is pretty unfazed by these crazy maneuvers.

Her father, president of Quebec’s Aviation RL, posted a video of Lea’s adorable reaction on Vimeo, and her giggles are contagious. In fact we dare you not to laugh while watching her reaction to the plane doing summersaults.

According to the YouTube description, this was Lea’s first aerobatic ride with her dad and she was the one who asked him to flip the plane.

We don’t think an outburst of giggles would be our reaction to a plane flipping around in the sky.

Man re-creates Magic! “Rude” music video and proposes to girlfriend in packed theater

When Liam Cooper decided to pop the question to his high school sweetheart, Amy, he knew he wanted to do it in a big way.

So he re-created the music video for “Rude” by the band Magic! and screened it in a local movie theater for his unknowing girlfriend. At first, it may look like a scene from “Glee,” but it is actually the world’s sweetest proposal video.

Liam took Amy to movies on what she thought was a typical double date with his sister and brother-in-law. Shortly before the previews started, Liam slipped away, claiming that he was going to the bathroom.

After a few previews were shown, Liam’s music video, with a special appearance by Amy’s father, premiered on the big screen.

“I was really freaking out with everything leading up to it,” Liam told Daily Mail Australia.

“It took us months of filming and editing, but the moment we were driving to the movies, it was pretty nerve-racking.”

The theater was filled with about 100 people, including the couple’s family and friends along with a few unsuspecting moviegoers.

When the music video finished, the theater lights turned on, and Liam got down on one knee to propose to Amy.

After all that song and dance, how could she not say yes!

Woman imagines that her hands are Pac-Man characters after surgery

Waking up from surgery is always a disorienting experience. Now imagine regaining consciousness and thinking that your hands are Pac-Man characters.

That's what happened to Jenn Peckham after she awoke from leg surgery.

Perhaps she was delirious from all her medications, but to amuse herself, Peckham started pretending that her hands were a little yellow fellow being chased by a ghost.

She posted the video to YouTube, writing, “After my leg surgery 6.16.15. My hands were the Pacman characters. Nothing else to explain haha."

Cat demands attention in the most annoying way ever

One of the greatest pieces of relationship advice is to not be too needy.

It’s a piece of wisdom heeded by most people but absolutely zero cats.

Alexander Fredriksen’s cat, Nala, shows us just how felines play by their own rules.

In this video, uploaded to YouTube, we see how Alex’s cat demands attention while he plays his video games.

In the video description, he writes, “Our fluffy little creature Nala has a habit of seeking attention when our focus is on the television and not her.”

As cute and endearing as this video is, we do not recommend adapting this habit as a method of courtship.

Man grappling with poncho teaches us about life’s struggles

Life can be rough.

Sometimes you just need to get a simple thing done, and it feels like everything is working against you.

This video of a man attempting to simply put on a poncho in the rain is the perfect metaphor for how annoying life can feel sometimes.

Such a simple thing it is, putting on a poncho.

But when your arms get stuck and it feels like you’re losing oxygen, you start to think you’ll never get out.

Even worse, when the world (or the camera at a nationally televised baseball game) is watching you — the pressure is on!

But the feeling of accomplishment, the success in shielding yourself from the rain and finally getting to sit back and enjoy the game, it makes all of the struggle worth it.

We salute you for your hardships, poncho man. Game on.

Man proposes with a music video to girlfriend he’s known since fifth grade

Sam Maccarone and Jessica Burzichelli met when they were 10 years old, and they’ve been together ever since.

Finally, when they were ready to get married, Sam knew he knew he wanted to do something to special to commemorate their long journey together. So, with the help of his friends, Sam decided to make a music video.

Jessica thought they were just doing a favor for a friend by playing a couple in the video. But toward the end of the shoot, Sam got down on one knee and proposed, in a very emotional moment.

In May, the finished music video, with the song that Sam’s friend wrote for the couple, was posted to YouTube. It got picked up by local news sites, and now has over a million views.

We wonder if they were ever nominated “Couple most likely to get engaged in a music video”?

Cat survives epic flight on wing of plane

Talk about your purrfect stowaway!

Pilot Romain Jantot had an unexpected passenger on his light-aircraft flight recently when midflight a cat appeared within the plane’s open-framed wing.

It’s unclear how the furry little creature was missed during the preflight check, but Jantot wrote that his experience showed the importance of “checking the wings before each flight.”

We don’t know how the cat held on that long until it landed safety back on the ground — on all four paws.

Boston Marathon bomber gets his chance to speak at formal sentencing

BOSTON —  His lead attorney has said he’s “sorry” for what he did, and a famed Catholic nun told a jury he expressed remorse to her for his victims.

But in the two years since he was apprehended, Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has never spoken publicly about his role in the deadly 2013 attacks that killed three people and injured nearly 300. The jury that convicted him and ultimately sentenced him to death in May did so without even once hearing the sound of his voice after Tsarnaev declined to testify on his own behalf at his two-month federal terrorism trial.
There’s a chance Tsarnaev could finally break his silence Wednesday. The 21-year-old bomber is scheduled to appear at a hearing in Boston where he will be formally sentenced to death by lethal injection. Before Judge George O’Toole hands down the sentence, roughly 20 bombing survivors and family members of those killed or injured in the attacks are expected to deliver victim impact statements, directly addressing Tsarnaev about the suffering and loss he caused.

After that, the judge will give Tsarnaev the opportunity to address the courtroom—though it’s unclear if he actually will. His attorneys did not respond to a request for comment.
Tsarnaev has said little since he was arrested four days after he and his older brother, Tamerlan, detonated two pressure-cooker bombs almost simultaneously near the finish line of April 15, 2013, Boston Marathon.
After they were identified as suspects three days later, the brothers shot and killed a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer while on the run. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, later died from injuries he sustained when his younger brother ran him over with a car during a confrontation with police in Watertown, Mass., a Boston suburb. Several hours after that, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found hiding and severely wounded by gunfire in a boat parked in a nearby backyard.

Scrawled in the hull of the boat was what prosecutors later described as Tsarnaev’s terrorist manifesto, a lengthy note that explained the brothers had carried out their attack as retaliation against the U.S. for violence against Muslims overseas. “The U.S. government is killing our innocent civilians, but most of you already know that,” Tsarnaev wrote. “I can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished... I don’t like killing, but due to said (illegible), it’s allowed.”
That note would be Tsarnaev’s most extensive statement to date. In court hearings over the last two years, he’s said less than 10 words — including his verbal plea of “not guilty” that he entered at his arraignment in July 2013. In December 2014, on the eve of his trial, Tsarnaev was asked by the judge if he’d been kept apprised of legal maneuverings (“Yes,” he said), if he’d been in regular contact with his attorneys (“Yes, sir”) and whether he was happy with his legal representation (“Very much”). That was the last time he spoke publicly.
During jury selection and his subsequent trial over the last five months, Tsarnaev sat quietly at a table near the front of courtroom nine inside the federal courthouse here, occasionally whispering and smiling with his attorneys when the judge and jurors weren’t around. Just days before he was sentenced to death, Tsarnaev laughed loudly at something one of his attorneys said during a court break—taking many reporters in the courtroom by surprise.
But while court was in session, Tsarnaev seemed determined to be inscrutable. He stared at the table or straight ahead as victims one by one took the stand and spoke of their horrific injuries or the loved ones they had lost to the attack. He showed little reaction when former teachers and friends testified about the thoughtful and caring Tsarnaev they had known and their shock at what he had done. The only crack in his façade came in May when his 64-year-old aunt from Russia began sobbing on the stand as she tried to testify on his behalf. Though she tried to regain her composure, she was ultimately too distraught to testify, and as she left the stand, Tsarnaev repeatedly wiped his eyes with a tissue, clearly emotional.
Tsarnaev’s defense team never tried to argue he didn’t participate in the bombings.
“It was him,” Judy Clarke, his lead attorney, said on day one of the trial. But they sought to get him a life sentence by arguing that he was a troubled kid from a dysfunctional family led astray by his radicalized and domineering older brother. Still, the defense offered little explanation for how a seemingly normal college student suddenly embraced terrorism, whether he still holds any of his radicalized views or if he and his brother had help in their plot.
In the end, the jury heard Tsarnaev’s views only indirectly. Sister Helen Prejean, a Catholic nun and staunch death penalty opponent made famous by the film “Dead Man Walking,” testified Tsarnaev had expressed remorse for the victims of the attacks during one of several meetings she had with him. “He said it emphatically. He said, ‘No one deserves to suffer like they did,’” Prejean testified.

Clarke later told the jury Tsarnaev’s conversation with Prejean was proof that he was “genuinely sorry” for what he had done. But it wasn’t enough for the jury, who recommended the death penalty. While at least three of the 12 jurors cried as they handed down the sentence and his attorneys looked stricken, Tsarnaev offered no visible reaction.

Tsarnaev, who turns 22 next month, can’t change his sentence by speaking out on Wednesday. Under federal rules, Judge O’Toole is required to impose the death sentence recommended by the jury. But while attorneys usually recommend their clients remain silent so as not to jeopardize future appeals, plenty of defendants have gone against the advice of their legal teams to issue political statements or diatribes.
That includes Timothy McVeigh, who was sentenced to death and ultimately executed for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Asked if he had anything to say at his 1997 sentencing, McVeigh quoted from a 1928 Supreme Court decision on government privacy. “’Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example,’” McVeigh said. “That's all I have.”
When Zacarias Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison in 2006 for conspiracy as part of the 9/11 attacks, he used his moment to lash out. “God curse America. And God save Osama bin Laden,” Moussaoui declared. (Like Tsarnaev, Moussaoui was also a client of Clarke’s.)

On Wednesday, Tsarnaev could possibly shed light on his current beliefs or apologize in the hope that by publicly showing remorse it might somehow impact his appeal, expected to be filed later this summer. Or he could remain silent—prolonging the enduring mystery of a case that remains shrouded in much secrecy.
More than a month after the death penalty verdict, more than half of the filings in the case remain under seal. That includes a list of the identities of the 12 jurors, who so far have not spoken publicly about the case.

3-year-old adorably recites Shia LaBeouf's intense motivational speech

They say that imitation is the best form of flattery, and we sincerely hope that Shia LeBeouf understands that.

YouTube user Tingman had his 3-year-old daughter and YouTube star, Olor, reenact Shia LaBeouf's now infamous “Just Do It” speech. LaBeouf delivered the intense motivational speech-- although some may call it an angry tirade — last month as part of a performance piece at Central Saint Martins Fine Arts program at University of the Arts London.

We think it's safe to say that Olor’s version is not only more adorable but more motivational than the original.

Who do you think delivered it best?
